The pictures below are not their standard operating procedure. Aidan was playing an iPad game and of course Emma wanted to play too. Aidan moved to the corner of the couch and she followed. Aidan curled up in a ball too block her view and Emma worked around that. Nobody cried.

Finaly, a Christmas I can enjoy
Emma had a great time today, except when Aidan was trying to steal her toys. We picked up a scanimation book that blew her mind, she picked up some cute new clothes, and generally had a great time.

Chewing on her My Little Pony |
We had to move the table and chairs out of Aidan's room and they were still sitting in the hall. Emma pulled out a few books the other day and now this has become her favorite spot. Really, I think it's just an excuse for her to motor up the stairs. But she enjoys sitting at the table and looking at books.

I'm not sure why she's making this face, but it's funny |

It's hot in here!
The problem with getting Halloween costumes from the States is that they're winter costumes, made to combat the fall chill. Dubai does not have this problem. Last year we had to get Emma out of her Robin costume before she died of heat stroke. This year we borrowed Kiira's ladybug costume. It was super hot and Emma wanted out.
Emma was in bed by 5:00 so she didn't go trick-or-treating with Aidan and Kiira. Maybe next year

Yeah! We have citizenship!
The Consulate was a breeze this time and we should have Emma's passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) in a few weeks. Then we'll get her residency visa and be finished with paper work. (Well, finished until March when we have to get Aidan a new passport.)
I took Emma to get passport pictures when she was two weeks old, but we waited too long for them to be useful. She was still using her grumpy disdainful face at that point so it's all good.
Her new picture is a lot better, but she's stuck with an "OHMYGODWHEREDIDYOUCOMEFROM?!" face for the next 5 years.

Rollin' stone
Emma has really wanted to roll over but she seemed to find the half way point and stop. She was content to balance on her side and watch the world. It all changed yesterday. While Aidan and I were making cupcakes I could see her going after one of his happy meal toys. She would scoot herself around on her back but she just couldn't reach it. Finally she flipped over and grabbed it. And promptly yelled at me when I took it away. She's been rolling all over the place since. This afternoon she flipped herself over and was trying to crawl. She could kind of get the legs moving but she wasn't sure what to do with her hands. She ended up scootching forward a bit and got a little rug burn on her forehead.
